Mrs. Oksana Sokolan

I have been a 3rd grade teacher for 23 years and I absolutely LOVE it!

I began teaching at PCA in 2001, but prior to that I had a lot of experience working with different ages, from preschool through high school. I obtained a degree in elementary education (1st-8th grade) and Ukrainian/Russian language from the University of Ukraine, which transferred to the State of Washington. I taught in Ukraine in public schools, but none can compare to the experience that I have had teaching at PCA. I love PCA because we are a family. Not only do I love my job, but also as a parent, I knew I could entrust PCA with all six of my kids, to enable them to gain a very strong education.

My motto for my class is “Be the best God calls you to be.” My goal as their teacher is to bring the best out in each student, and grow and mature not only their physical being, but also their understanding of who God is. While I want them to continually learn new things, I also enjoy when they are having fun!
